Raspberry Pi - Network Configuration

The auto config of network setting on the Raspberry is very good but if you want to manually over-ride these settings then there are some clues below, for a more detailed read try here -->

file to edit:
sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces
file contents:
auto lo

iface lo inet loopback

iface eth0 inet dhcp

allow-hotplug wlan0
# iface wlan0
