Os exchange.

I am presently downloading Ubuntu 8.10 on My Laptop to Write it to a CD and want to replace My Xp Home with it. Problem is I need to start all over as with a new PC, and With XP already on My PC, It wants to reinstall. Q, Can I delete all partitians from an Fresh XP cd bootup, then prociead from a reboot with an Ubuntu CD in the drive an d get an new OS? Thanks for the help.

    its no need to reinstall winXP. when u install ubuntu u can manually select & edit ur partition table. also can use free space on winC: partition to make a new parti: to install linux. when u install ubuntu pls read every msg carefully.if u cud find a file tells how 2 install ubuntu,read it 1st.u can install winxp after ubuntu. but it will mk troubles vt boot loader.always winxp should be installed2 da active partition.
    if not xp cudnt load.
