My journey in Linux...

Posted 02-03-2007 at 10:58 PM by LeetChris

Well another not so good day in my journey into the linux far i got Fedor core 6 installed which was fairly simple being this is not my first time messing around in linux ive had other distros installed but always gave up cause i couldn't figure something out but it seems to be the same problem each time...and it all starts with ndiswrapper and my wireless network..if you only knew the hours ive spent tinkering with it and googleing it and reading tutorial's and even watched video on how to but still can't seem to get it right. It gets very frustration but ive told my-self this time I am not going to give up i really want to learn about linux and the OpenSource community and become apart of it so im going to stick with it.So you ask what's different this time well ive made a list of things i want to get accomplished so maybe i can stick to it and not go back and forth with different things and get in over my head...ok ok so what is on my list you ask well as of right now just a few things to get me started.
1.Get ndiswrapper working properly and wireless setup complete.
2.Check for updates.
3.Find drivers for nvidia and get installed.
4.Setup dual monitors.
5.Test all functions of laptop to see what works and what doesn't.
So thats my plan.As of right now I'm still stuck on number 1 damn you ndiswrapper DAMN YOU!!!
