Well, I just got done with Workbook five in RHA030. Wow. I feel like I've gone from 0 to 60 in less than a month! I am going through the processes of making things happen without looking back in the book to find the answers and I'm learning a lot. In fact, my next box will be Linux and won't have any of that Windoz anywhere near it.

I have five days to complete Workbook 10 and 11 so I can get the extra credit. After Sunday I start the RHA130 course. I hear it is quite hard....

Day 12 of RHCT Class

Would you believe that I've been too busy to blog? Yep, this RHCT class is keeping me behind the keyboard. Well, I'm on workbook 3, chapter 2 in the RHA 030 class. I'm trying to stay on target of doing two workbooks a week. So far so good. I have run into a couple of problems, though. Some of the instructions on the online exercises are less than clear. So, with a half working box I begin my RHCT course work. First step, move the box from my office to my house, after all it is called homework. Get the computer home and boot it up. It goes through the POST and begins the process of starting all the services and whatnot to get RH running. I turn my head away from the computer and begin reading some of the RHCT book. First problem... Getting the computer to boot.

Okay, so I come in this morning and boot up the computer I'm going to be using for linux. Easy, right? So the system gets locked up during the boot-up process. Just stops. All I can do is restart the box and see if it will come up the next time. Maybe I need a newer computer.

Overview and Expectations

In a few short weeks I'll start my training for my RHCT. For many who read this it would sound like I was going for an A+ certification because RHCT shouldn't be that hard, right? Well, I'm definately not a software guy. All my training has been in networking, communications, and hardware. I stumble every time I boot up my linux box, but hopefully that will be a thing of the past in the near future.
