I spent several of my recent weekend hours making a Everex gBook a useful laptop. The owner was disappointed that it wasn't a standard Windows machine and found it unfamiliar enough to wonder if it would ever be useful.
I ended up loading Ubuntu 8.04 Desktop Edition.
First I tried to update the gOS version and found that the download would only fit on a DVD - although it is just a 100MB or so more than than a CD will hold. (Makes you wonder why anyone wouldn't trim the ISO...
