Yea, most of it's great but there's also a lot of work that goes into making it great. I examine all the good bad and ugly of technology.

Background
I've been in IT for over 4 years now and playing around with linux just over two of those. Ive recently been getting a little more serious about my training as I reported in my entry about my Preplogic training purchase. And while I want to claim that I fight the good fight the reality is that my tiny company is still primarily windows based despite efforts to bring them over to linux.
Issue
It's because of this that I wasn't concerned that my PrepLogic training didn't offer any Linux titles. However I'm very happy to learn that they have just added to very exciting titles for me personally redhat and oracle 11g.
While I harbor no illusions of completely converting my superiors over to Linux any time soon I do believe we are making inroads. We now run 4 separate Linux servers at my office. We began with just a single linux server two years ago when we deployed a Linux FTP server as a concession to a colleague by management.
Hope
It's now my hope that with additional training on redhat we'll be able to demonstrate additional cost savings and I and my colleagues will enjoy greater reliability. I certainly do hope this additional knowledge is a harbinger of things to come.

And if anyone can recommend a favorite redhat book, I would appreciate the suggestion.
