I now have several codes that have enabled me to play audio from another device via the amplifier in my Jeep! So, Boston Audio premium is not what the interwebs cracks it up to be. It has a left and right input for audio on pins 18, 19, 20, and 21. This is a deceiving label, as the front speakers are also connected to this. The important part of the whole system is the amplifier. This may seem obvious, but I'm also kind of dumb. The amplifier takes care of the fade...
Okay, this should be the last of the code-finding mission. I think I found what I need. This is what I've managed to find. Again, please use this at your own risk. These codes are for my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, RAQ stereo, Sirius module installed, V8/Flex Fuel. Not sure how much of that is important, but more data is better than too little. Feedback is welcome, and I also would love to know how to find out what is displayed on the console. If anyone knows this, I would greatly appreciate...
Another post? Is this guy crazy? Yeah, probably. I hit a positive point in the project, and that helps. Look, between other electronics stuff, guitar, running, drinking, and whatever else, I carved out some time to progress.
Tonight was productive. I learned a lot of cool things. I am going to copy-paste the stuff from notepad (don't judge me, I was lazy) that I discovered. This stuff may only apply to the 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, so be aware of that. I discovered some codes that...
So, this project seems like the slowest project in the world...
That's probably because it is. I'll get it figured out one day. At least there is some progress today.
My biggest goal was to get the CAN code that would turn on the stereo and amplifier. Luckily, someone had actually figured this part out already! In this video, the guy demonstrates that you can just send data with an ID of 0. Simple! So I tried to send a 1, using boolean or bit style logic to attempt...

The lack of documentation on this thing is obnoxious. Tenacity might be the only thing to get me through this. If you haven't seen my previous post (if you care), I am trying to write some software to use the Ginkgo USB-CAN interface on my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Ginkgo (I am going to shorten it to this, since it should be pretty obvious what I am talking about) has a PDF associated with it on the Viewtool website which details the API's, though it does a confusing job of it. I should also...
