Slackware 14.1 - Use persistent disk names in lilo and fstab before adding a second hard disk

I recently added to a laptop a second SATA Hitachi hard disk (HDD) using a HDD caddy that replaced the CD/DVD drive. This second HDD was from an old laptop whose motherboard died and had a Windows Vista partition and a linux partition.

The first HDD (Toshiba) in the laptop was partitioned as follows:
/dev/sda1 for the swap
/dev/sda2 for the root directory of Slackware 14.1 64bit with ext4 filesystem

After adding the second HDD, the boot process failed...

Recently the laptop of one of my friends was stolen. She was worried not by the loss of the laptop but by the fact that it contained scanned copies of identification documents (driver's license, identity card, passport).

This rang a bell in my head. I promised myself to encrypt my laptop on the next release of Slacwkare 14.1 which I hope will come soon which means when it's ready

In the meantime, I'm using a USB key as a target destination for my backup script using...

With the recent release of Slackware 14.0, I switched my desktop from KDE to XFCE. Don't get me wrong, I like KDE but it's starting to feel a bit slow on my main laptop (Acer Aspire 7220: AMD Semprom 3500+ 1.8 GHz - RAM 4GB DDR2).

I didn't upgrade from my previous OS (Salix 13.37), but rather made a clean installation. Because I'm using Kmymoney to manage my personal finances and I didn't want to install all the KDE packages just for that application, I made...

I've compiled KMyMoney2 on Slackware 13.0 (32-bit) using feedbacks from these 2 threads in which it was reported that KMyMoney2 was successfully compiled on 64-bit but not on 32-bit:

/usr/local/lib or /usr/local/lib64
