Check for paper

Posted 12-02-2011 at 10:08 AM by FredGSanford

The other day while at home, I was doing some surfing and needed to print some info. I was using Salix OS, a Slackware based distro, but made easier to use. So I begin to print and noticed nothing was coming out of the printer. Mind you I have an older Brother AIO which works fine under RPM and DEB file format distros, but for Salix/Slackware, I had to use the tarball format. So it can get a little tricky. I had the printer working for a few weeks up until this moment.

So the next day I decide to switch into my main OS using the rpm format, Mageia One, same thing happen, nothing is coming out of the printer. At this point i'm wondering wtf is going on. I go to check the printer and low & behold, the printer is out of paper...duhhhh! It just goes to show, check the simple things first before you go digging into the core of the system.

Just a thought!
