ExTiX 14, MeX Linux, LFA (Linux for ALL) and ExLight (among other “exton distributions”) can be installed to a USB stick with UNetbootin. I have now arranged it so that the aforementioned systems can run from RAM (superfast!). You just have to replace on file after the installation is ready. READ THIS:

ExTiX 14 is currently in 14th place on Distrowatch.com’s “popularity” list (for the past seven days). Prior to such established greats like KNOPPIX, Lubuntu, Xubuntu, Arch, PCLinuxOS, CentOS, Ubuntu Gnome, Gentoo, Slackware, SUSE, etc.

I can’t help being a little pleased.

ExTiX 14 on DistroWatch.com

Posted 12-25-2013 at 10:21 AM by exton (Exton's Blog)

ExTiX 14 has been on DistroWatch.com since yesterday. It helps. I mean, over 2100 downloads in one day! Only from Sourceforge.net. How many people have downloaded the ISO file from the Swedish Linux Society server I do not know.

I have compiled yet another Ubuntu/Debian kernel for 64 bit systems. This time kernel 3.12.0-7-exton, equivalent to Kernel.org’s latest STABLE kernel 3.12.4, released today (131209).

Run your Slackware 64 bit system with the latest kernel – 3.12.1!

Posted 11-21-2013 at 10:07 AM by exton (Exton's Blog)

I have compiled a very useful (as I think) 64 bit kernel for Slackware 12.0 – 14.1 and/or all Slackware derivatives. For example Slax, Zenwalk, SlackEX and Exton|Defender. The kernel is compiled exactly the same way as Slackware’s latest kernel huge. “My” kernel 3.12.1-exton has even more support for new hardware, etc. Kernel 3.12.1 is the latest stable kernel available from Kernel.org. Released yesterday (20131120).
