I’ve made a new version (130318) of exGENT, which is based on Gentoo. The old version of exGENT is from 130215. My new exGENT Linux live system uses LXDE as Desktop Environment and “my special” genkernel 3.7.10-gentoo-exton. LXDE is used because of its speed. Quite new is that I’ve found a suitable installation program, in which a Grub installation (Grub Legacy) is included. I’ve also added more support för Atheros and Broadcom wireless cards in version 130318.

The best thing with exGENT (Gentoo) Linux Live CD is the premier autodetection of hardware and the ability to easily install the system to hard drive and/or usb pen drive. Installed programs: Among many others Abiword, GParted, Firefox, Thunderbird and Wicd. Furthermore compilation tools so that you can install programs from source the Gentoo way. See a complete program LIST.

UPGRADE the System
The exGENT System (version 130318) is in very good shape, since I, without problems, have been able to update the whole system with the following commands:

# emerge --update --deep --newuse world
# emerge --depclean
# revdep-rebuild

The system language is English.
