Silly problem - KDE 4 locks system upon login

Posted 07-09-2012 at 09:41 AM by error_401

Well finding out abut how to convert your videos yesterday and today had me investigate into a weird problem for a couple hours.

Converting a lot of videos took a huge lot of disk space ending up in filling my HDD.

Then I was unable to log into the GUI via the KDE logon screen. When I did first it re-showed the logon screen and on the second attempt crashed. Not even able to open a console.

Took me a while to figure that one out and only a try to start KDE from the console finally brought the solution and pointed into the right direction.

The rest was relatively easy. Log into the user with the console and do some deleting of files. And it's up and running again.
