Politicians (No Linux in this)

If you expect something about Linux in this post skip this and read something else. This is a rant about politicians.
For the last 4 months I have read story after story about how bad the economy is and how corporations or banks have borked us. That may be true, but it takes two to tango and if the stupid, selfish politicians hadn't asked them to dance we wouldn't be in this mess. Look, business is about greed and making money. That's what makes it work so well. The governments job is to ensure our freedoms by preventing fraud and theft on the part of businesses. If this is done then capitalism works better than any other system in the world. But if you mess with it then all kinds of bad things can happen. If you let the government do more than fraud and theft protection then you get what we have today. If Congress hadn't specifically create a process by which high risk mortgages could be sold to consumers and then purchased by a government controlled corporation (Fannie Mae & Freddy Mac) this would never have happened. Then in the middle of the Bush term some of the Republicians tried to fix this process, but the Democrats, and Obama specifically, prevented this. The politicians caused this problem, they are at fault here. Don't blame corporations for doing what corporations do. Now you expect the politicians to fix the problem; don't make me laugh. About 81% of members of congress are or were lawyers. In general, lawyers are lying cheating snakes and many of them are not too bright. If they were bright then they'ld still be in law making the big money. So, do you really want dumb lawyers to run businesses and set pay scales just because they are smooth talkers? Would you personally want a lawyer to live in your house and run your life? I don't think so. So why would you vote to allow them to do it? Make no sense.

Some of your rant makes sense but then I think of Enron executives and a few others that have plain raped anyone in their path. I have mixed emotions about this bail out, I do think we would be better off with out it unless they can make it work.Posted 04-22-2009 at 07:48 AM by Larry Webb
