Hi There,
I am a casual GNU/Linux User and in particular Debian Admirer!.I have first used Linux in 1998 and it was redhat 5 IIRC in Where I studied for Engineering Graduation.

I have nothing, even no curiousity about Linux at that time.

Fast Forward to 2001 ,After My Engg Course ,I bought a New PC and the Technician left Redhat 7 CD's with the Installation.
I started Experimenting with it and the Interest Got Me Join a Computer Institute "SSI" - A Computer Training Network Famous in India.
They had a comprehensive Coverage Syllabus Which helped Me quiet a bit.
I was never a Programmer.I still don't know how to use awk for Programming.coming back- My Teacher at "SSI" skipped awk part.and I too thanked for that!

Circa 2002,I was Curious of Debian GNU/Linux thanks to the Local LUG's mailing lists.

I got a set of Debian "Woody" CD's and installed it.I started admiring Debian Tools and that community is something great. From there ,I've Debian as My Primary System.

One thing I always remain as is -I am Just a Linux User;I am not a Geek-Neither I can program. But ,With this many Years ,I learned obviously quiet a lot of GNU/Linux.
Two Package Management Systems I feel is good for *nix Distributions are:

  • apt,dpkg of Debian
  • conary is a promising tool -part of Foresight Linux

Forgot to Tell: For almost 6 years ,I am not using Windows at all.

Hope This Serve as a General Reference on Me.

Thanks
