The Path Ahead

Now that I am here, in the Open Source world, I am finding so much more than an operating system with enough programs to keep me going. There is so much stuff out there. I made a promice to myself that I would try to keep some records of my learning so that I can write some documentation that might help some others that have come from a similar level of ignorance about computers to me. I have kept the records but getting around to writting the documentation always seems to compete with so many things to do. I guess this is the big barrier that slows the progress on that front for many applications.
Some of the projects that I am particularly interested in learning about and contributing to are . . .
Hydrogen, Quanta, Ktoons, and Ardour or some other sound editor . . . . although I havn't used a sound editor yet and I am not sure which one to use. One day I will get to it.
The biggest priorities on my list however are to get stuck into learning about linux security configurations and home networking with DHCP. I would really like to get this worked out and write an easy paper on getting a system and home network installed, configured and secure.
I would consider this a good little achievment.
