IDE

Posted 12-11-2008 at 09:42 AM by ctsiow

Been playing with IDE as I am sort of toying with the idea of learning C++. I have tried Anjuta and KDevelop and a couple of others but 1 stands out, Geany. (Home page http://www.geany.org/. Nice and lightweight, very fast with all the languages supported for syntax highlighting you could possibly want I think. C++ is just one of the syntax highlighting languages, there are many, some I have never heard of, what is Haxe used in for example? Script languages well supported, Python and Perl for example and in the Misc category there is LaTex and SQL dump file. As I say it is nice and lightweight, it was installed thru Ubuntu add/remove software so nice and straight forward to install too!
