Egg fried rice with Meat masala - North Indian Style

Notice: Spoon measurement : 6ml
Ingredients:
  • Uncooked Basmati Rice measured in a 187ml vessel.
  • 1 spoon Cumin seeds.
  • 1/2 spoon Red Chilli powder.
  • 1/2 spoon Salt.
  • 2 spoons Meat masala. (No, this ingredient can NOT be skipped.)
  • 6 raw Eggs.
  • 14 spoons oil. (Yes I know what I am talking about )

Directions:
  • Cook the Basmati rice by boiling method. Keep it aside till it cools down completely.
  • Heat the oil in a non stick vessel, drop in the Cumin seeds and fry till they get golden brown.
  • Drop all the shelled raw Eggs in the vessel and fry (stirring all the while) till you feel that they aren't raw anymore.
  • Add the Red Chilli powder, Meat masala, Salt, and fry for few more seconds.
  • Add Rice and fry again (stirring all the while) for a few more minutes.
  • Serve hot.

    I made this for my daughter and her boyfriend in Philadelphia, Pa., USA, this weekend. They really liked it.

    I accompanied it with yoghurt and cucumber salad as a cooler counterpoint.

    I know you must be already knowing this but I'll repeat that
    I was under a misconception regarding spoon measurements.

    The thing I was calling a table spoon can only contain 6 ml
    of water.
