A stitch in time saves nine!
I always tend to learn my lessons the hard way!
:sigh:
Latest lesson learnt:
A stitch in time saves nine.
Background story:
A year back a part of my grinding tooth broke off! I took it
lightly and kept on ignoring it for many months. Slowly the part of
the tooth, now exposed, developed cavity! I didn't feel any pain
(probably because the cavity was in its early stage) and therefore
kept on ignoring it thinking when it starts causing pain then I'll
go to the dentist for a "filling"!
Months passed and slowly I started feeling pain in that area while
chewing, but since the pain wasn't terrible, I kept on postponing
the visit to a doctor!
Then finally the dreadful day came and I started feeling an acute
pain in that area! It was terrible. I couldn't eat anything, nor I
could sleep or concentrate on anything!
Finally I took the leap and visited the dentist in a hope to get a
"filling" done! To my horror the doctor revealed that the infection
had reached in deep roots and the only cure was the ROOT CANAL
treatment.
That treatment costed me Rs. 4400/- ($68) Wow!
No, that's not the end of the story. The dentist advised me to get
the remaining cavities treated by "filling" as soon as possible. I
thought I'll get them filled some other time! HUH! In the depths of
my heart didn't I know that "tomorrow never comes"?!?
After nearly one month of the previous treatment, yesterday, I felt
a shooting pain in the other grinding tooth! I thought the pain
would go away on its own, but it didn't!
Today I finally went to the dentist again, and had another ROOT
CANAL treatment done!
That treatment costed me Rs. 4400/- ($68), AGAIN!
So, in a nutshell, my carelessness costed me terrible pain and Rs. 8800/- ($136).
Is there some most careless girl of year award? If it is, then it
should go to me!!

Having had several root canals (none of which were kind enough to give me long-term advance warning), I fully sympathize.
Speedy healing.Posted 09-07-2013 at 02:40 PM by frankbell
