Does anyone have experience with Preplogic for A+? I'm looking for a certification training company to help me train for my A+ certification. I have heard good things about Preplogic as far as their PMP training from other reviews but I don't know anything about their A+ training. Training is always expensive and I just want to make sure I'm putting my money to a good use. Does anyone have any experience with Preplogic and their A+ program that can help me out?

I work as a level 1 help desk but I'm really trying to move up so I need to start down a cert path. I had a friend who used Preplogic for his MCSE a few years ago but I'm really looking for reviews or recommendations regarding Preplogic's A+ program and it's kind of hard to get information.

I'm also a little confused. I go to Preplogic.com and I don't know which A+ product to order. Should I just go for the practice exams? Are the Preplogic mega guides any good? Maybe I should just give Preplogic a call but I wanted to talk to someone outside the company to get the real story.

If anyone can help me out here that would be great.

Preplogic and A+

I used Preplogic about 2 years ago for my A+ and the training was perfect for me. I was just starting out but I knew a little from a job I had at verizon DSL tech support. The instructor on the Preplogic video was great. He knew just how to explain the material. Also I could take the video training on iPod so I could just train wherever. I'm planning on using Preplogic for when I go for my CCNA too. It's honestly a really comprehensive approach because you don't need any other training product. And since A+ is pretty entry level, you should be able to do well even if you've never had any formal training or experience. The Preplogic practice exams are also a high quality product. They really teach you the material instead of just giving you the answers, which is good as far as I'm concerned.

My Preplogic experience so far

Based on the good reviews and recommendations here I decided to go ahead and give Preplogic a try so I called them up and ordered a training package last week. I received all the materials over the weekend and I've had a chance to get started. I'm going to keep this blog updated with my experiences with Preplogic, hopefully it will help anyone out who is considering using them for training in the future.

As I said before, I'm using them for my A+. The Preplogic product seems to be really useful so far. I found it especially attractive because the other options that I was considering were either picking up a 500+ page book to study, or going to my local community college (and that's not really an option, I have work and a family at home). So in the end the decision was clear, I needed to go with Preplogic.

Here's my thoughts on the Preplogic A+ training so far:

The A+ video training instructor is great. However, the video is rather lengthy (although it has to be long because there's a lot of information to cover)

Luckily you can bookmark the video and come back later so it lets you train at your own pace. The instructor does give real world examples and shortcuts that the pros use. I don't remember them doing that when I was in college. I think that's one of the big differences with Preplogic. This is career training, rather than college courses. There's a big difference because when you're in school you study many subjects which may or may not be related to what you do for a living. In the real world you need to have a specialty, I think Preplogic understands this. The Preplogic training is very focused, and shows you the techniques needed to be successful in the job, instead of just teaching straight from a book.

I picked up the Preplogic "Mega-Guide", in addition to the training. This is good because it will be available for me at work and on the go. Whenever I have a few minutes of downtime I plan on pulling out the Preplogic guide to study. Same with the Preplogic audio training. I'll be listening to that in my car for sure.

For the sake of curiosity, I did fool around with the Preplogic practice exams. I've got some studying to do yet before I get serious about the practice exams but I checked them out this weekend while I was waiting on Preplogic to mail the remainder of the materials. I noticed that Preplogic does let you focus on the sections of the exam where you need work. That's a great idea because you don't have to waste time going over questions that you already know.

The bottom line is I'm pretty excited about training with Preplogic. I'll keep this blog up to date with my experiences.

	Preplogic Glad to hear that this is working out for you. I figured it would based on what you said you were looking for. I'm going with the Preplogic Unlimited access plan when I do my CCNA, that way I don't have to buy new training the next time I want to get another cert. I'm basically just going to try and get as much bang for my buck as I can and grab a few certifications this time.

Thanks. Yeah, I think I'm almost ready for A+ now. I just need to set a date. I've been wondering if I call Preplogic whether or not they'll let me switch to their unlimited access plan. I got an e-mail about it not too long ago and I kind of wish that I had known about that when I ordered the A+ training. I definitely want to move up with more certifications once I obtain the A+. I've got some friends who just have A+ who are having a little trouble finding work so having another cert wouldn't hurt. Of course we live in the middle of nowhere so other people might not be having that same problem. But I have seen some jobs that are looking for CCNA and what not and they pay well so I'm really considering jumping right into that. I'll probably just call Preplogic after I pass my A+ and see if I can get switched to the unlimited access. Does anyone know if they can do that?
