Preplogic and CCNP preparation:

I'm going to share the experiences I've with Preplogic while preparing for my CCNP exams. I've had my CCNA for nearly 6 years now. This time around instead of just re-certifying I'm looking to take a step up. My job actually gives me an automatic raise if I obtain my CCNP so it just makes sense for me to do so.

While searching for training I asked some co-workers and the overwhelming majority stated that Preplogic offers the only high quality training product that won't cost you an arm and a leg. So I decided to go ahead and take the plunge and subscribe to Preplogic's all access plan (because it appeared to be a really good deal) and it is going well.

The all access plan works kind of like Netflix - that's how the Preplogic representative explained it to me. So for now I'm working on my CCNP but later if I want to work on a different certification I can just send the stuff back and they send me the training for that cert. This is great because as long as I have this plan I'll never have to worry about training again. The one downside to Preplogic's program to me is that it's not all online. So you do have to wait for them to mail some stuff. It's not too big of a deal but I think they should do something about that.

The study guides are high quality and the audio training can be downloaded to your MP3 player. This allows me to take the training wherever I go and it's really convenient. The video training is (understandably) extremely long. However, Preplogic does allow you to bookmark the videos so that you can pick up where you left off. The instructors are very knowledgeable and are experts in the field, but they don't talk down to you. It's a perfect learning curve.

All in all I'm happy with all of the Preplogic products and I hope to start sitting for the CCNP exams soon. For now I'm just focusing on one exam at a time and when I'm ready, I'll go test. I think that's the best way to handle it and avoid information overload.

Preplogic

I've been using Preplogic for about 3 months now to study for my PMP certification. It seems like the more I use Preplogic's product, the more I like it. I'm really taking my time with it out of necessity because I'm working all the time, but the training materials really cater to this type of approach because like you said, you can bookmark the long videos and come back to it later. I did write a blog entry about my experience with Preplogic and PMP if anyone is wondering how the PMP program works.

I had looked at a lot of other PMP resources online but the sample video from Preplogic really blew the others away. The only complaint that I have is that they sent me one of the wrong practice exams when I first started but that's all sorted out now and the people at Preplogic were very friendly. I sent back the wrong materials and they didn't wait to receive them before sending the right ones, I received them within 2-3 days of calling Preplogic about the issue.

Preplogic and A+

I've ordered Preplogic now for my A+, just waiting on some materials to arrive. I still haven't been able to talk to anyone that's done the A+ yet but all of the reviews for the other Preplogic programs were favorable so I decided to give it a try. The sample video on Preplogic.com was very good and I downloaded a free 15 minute study guide which was informative and high quality. I'm wondering if I should have gone with the unlimited plan like you did because it seems like a great deal and I do want to get my CCNA and maybe someday CCNP once I've got A+ under my belt. I'm hoping that maybe I can switch my plan or get a discount with Preplogic or something when it comes time for that. I plan on keeping my blog here updated with my Preplogic experiences. Hopefully it will help someone else out.

Preplogic.com for CCNA

I recently ordered Preplogic.com training for my CCNA, due in part to the reviews on this site. I'm waiting for the materials to arrive now. Before going with Preplogic I had checked out a couple of other cheaper companies and I just wasn't happy with the product. I need portable training and I don't do well with written materials. I guess I just don't learn by reading things. I tried it before with a book and when I could actually get myself to read the book I wasn't retaining the information. So with my need for portability due to work and what-not I really need an audio training product.

The audio training I received from this other company was horrible. I wouldn't recommend it at all. This was some fly-by-night company and basically they had someone reading out of a book who clearly didn't know what he was talking about. The quality was also poor and I could hardly understand the "instructor". It also seems like the recording was at least 5 years old because they didn't mention anything recent.

I've heard good things about the Preplogic audio training and that the lectures were written specifically for the audio format so I'm excited about that. That is the type of training that I need. I'm hoping that my training will arrive this weekend so that I can go ahead and start with the new work week. I've got an hour and a half drive to work every morning so I'm looking forward to studying daily in the car. It's better than listening to the radio, all they do is play commercials these days.

Doing well with Preplogic so far

Just wanted to update and let you guys know that I'm doing well with Preplogic so far. As I said above, I'm using them for my A+ but now I kind of wish that I had gone for the unlimited access plan. Does anyone know if I call preplogic if they'll switch me? Obviously I want to move up in the field beyond just having an A+ so it makes sense for me to get on this training plan. I can't find any information on the Unlimited access plan on the Preplogic website. Does anyone have a link to it?

By the way, I'm keeping a blog of all of my Preplogic experiences here if anyone is interested in what it's like.

my experience with these guys has been great. I'm kind of a newbie here and trying to learn Linux and stuff, but in the meantime I have been using the Preplogic products to study for my beginner IT exams. I like the videos a lot. I can't stand the thought of having to go back like old-school style to books or a class (heavens no!!). Way boring if you ask me. The instructors that teach these classes are fantastic and I have been thrilled.

I do like to keep up with what the latest and greatest is on the IT front, and I think I have definitely seen my certification study make a big difference just in my overall knowledge level. I feel like lately I have been able to really help my friends out with their IT problems that they have. My cell is ringing a lot more these days with calls from friends looking for help. It's awesome.
