I am sticking it out..but it seems no one here can help me.
It's not their fault. I can;t really tell them what's going on because i don't even know the specs of my own computer. But I am trying to give them as much info as i can so they can walk me through this flash installation business so I can start actually DOING things on my computer....
But if i don;t get an answer soon i might just go by a copy of Windows next week and install that....horrible, i know, the dark side. But as far as i can see, Windows is a heck of a lot more user friendly than Ubuntu is

I read your posts and you are giving up too easy. First do you know how to use terminal? There were a couple of questions left unanswered. If you do not know how to find the answers ask, do not feel embarassed. Do you get any error messages. Yes and you were right we may need to know which equipment you are running. Ubuntu is OK but I find Mint easier
Don't give up; a fresh install of Windows can be a real pain also - I do it several times a week for a living.
You might try Linux Mint - Mint includes Flash and mutimedia codecs already installed and it has worked on just about all the hardware I have tried it on. Ubuntu is good also but I keep going back to Mint. Currently using Mint 5 - Elyssa which is a long term support version. The latest is Mint 7.Posted 06-09-2009 at 01:47 PM by jcoleman
