how to install gtkmm from source

Is there a particular reason you want to install it from source? On rpm based systems compiling from source is normally done only as a last resort. Doing so creates issues with package management (as well as a host of other things).

thank you very much .I want to install the latest version of gmlive,but it need high version of GTKMM.but when compile GTKMM,configure is ok,but some errors in "make" step.it remind that some fuction are not define.I don't know how to do it.
