BTW, here is the step-by-step instalation guide.

A)Live CD
The first thing I did before installing Vector is downloaded and burned VL Live CD to make sure VL is what I need. After running Live CD without problems on my main box - Dell Latitude CPI A366XT(P2 366 MHZ, 128 MB RAM, 6 GB HDD).
But, when I tryed to run it on 3 other mashines, on two of them it has problems with X. Seems like a conflict with video card(one of them has NVidia card and the other one - Crystal, don't remember exact models). Third box worked fine with Live CD.
All 4 of them worked fine with VL Standard version.

B) Partitioning
All partitioning and resizing tools are included into instalation CD - just follow instalation process.
VL needs at least 2 partitions(swap and root), but I use 4(swap, root, home, temp)
There only 2 partition types need to be selected type screen - Linux(should be used for all partitions, exscept swap) and Linux swap. To chose it go to Type screen, then to second page. Linux partition type is selected by default. If you need Linux swap - just enter its number, showed at the second page.

C) No-CD instalation
On my Dell Latitude I do not have a CD-RW drive, so to install VL in standard way I need to burn a CD on other computer, which isn't good to me. So I searched docs and VL Forum and found workaround:
There is a possibility to install VL directly from an iso file, stored at the hard drive. First of all you need to get vlinstall-iso from http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/veclinux-5.8/install/vinstall/vinstall-iso and the VL iso file you'd like to install and save both of them into your home partition. Then you need to find a way to boot your system to CLI so that you can umount root(and all other partitions beside home, where you have your vlinstall-iso and the instalation iso file saved) partition.
I did that booting from the Live CD I read that it's possible to boot from floppy and do that, but I also know that there was some troubles going around it, so I just used Live CD that I already had. Had no blogs yet, so that will be my first experience with it. Honestly, I's rather start keeping notes in some *.info text file and would be happy enough, but... Here come 2 reasons:
First of all its quite useful to have some good docs on the web.
And last, but not least - I'd be happy if some other Linux user will benefit from it.
So let's get started.

I am using Vector Linux 5.9, SlackWare-based distribution(versions Light-Final and Standard-Gold)
I installed Standard-Gold on 4 boxes and Light-Final on one.
Will post issues that I faced with and what I did to find the way around them.
