Portmap is just so obnoxious

Posted 08-01-2006 at 08:51 AM by baikonur

fixed some things on my Laptop yesterday - it's got SOUND now.
also played around in my next Kernel's configuration. Like:
CONFIG_HZ_1000 and ACPI_ASUS enabled and low latency and
more fancy stuff.
I shut down the system, but later on I rebooted to do some more
stuff. But... the stupid portmapper was hanging everytime, trying
to connect to the nfs-shares on our corporate server. *grrr*
Had to boot from a rescue-CD and edit /etc/fstab to get it going
again.

Why, Mr. Portmap, were you doing this to me?
Couldn't you SEE the server's not here?
Of course you could, you're just being a pain-in-the-ass.

yours,
[baik]
