Challenge Accepted - Part 1

I'm going to write a short off-topic series on a challenge my wife issued to me the other night. We have two turtles in a 55 gallon aquarium, and I can't seem to keep up with the filter cleaning (turtles are like Oscars and Plecos in terms of waste generation, only 1000x worse...well, ok, Oscars are pretty messy, too). I was complaining about the constant filter maintenance, and my wife asked me why I didn't just build out an aquaponics system on top of the aquarium.

Got several of the rpi zeros. Except for the wiring, same as using any other pi.

Downloaded the latest slackware, but have not installed it yet.

Sent a ton of stuff to the recyclers which I said I never would do.

Migrating SAN storage from RHEL 5.9 to RHEL 6.8

I've had to migrate multiple Oracle instances from RHEL 5.9 to RHEL 6.8 because we're replacing an old server. This is Oracle 11gR2 using ext4 filesystems (not RAC/GRID, not using ASM).

Just wanted to share the steps. Presumably this would work for most (Redhat derived at least including CentOS and Fedora) Linux flavors so I only specify the source and target distro/versions for completeness.

ENVIRONMENT:
We use a Hitachi VSP disk array and with full fiber...
