Irssi the irc client that rocks

Irssi is a terminal based IRC client for UNIX systems. It also supports SILC, XMPP and ICB protocols via plugins.

Even the dpkg bot in #debian agrees irssi rocks:
<dpkg> i guess irssi is the best <IRC> client ever. "aptitude install irssi" and read http://www.irssi.org/documentation/startup . See also http://irssi.org/documentation/faq. http://www.irssi.org/
