    Running Windows on Linux

If I understand correctly you were dual booting and Windows OS got trashed somehow?
If windows really is trashed you will either need an "image" of Windows (if thats the right term) and run either in VMware or VirtualBox. I've never used VMware but do run Windows XP in VirtualBox. When installed it creates one big file which can then be used on other machines, saved, etc. When I know I am going to do a Linux upgrade or mess with it I save the XP virtualbox file and then simply reinstall.

Also, I don't know if Quicken will run in Wine or not - may be worth a try. I tried Quickbooks in Wine (a couple of years ago) but it would not run - I have to admit I didn't try real hard and haven't tried it lately. If you haven't checked out the Wine site maybe give it a look and see if anybody has had any success running it.

Sorry, wish I had some more definitive answers.
