Sounds like it should have been published on April 1st, not September 1st.

Xbox 360, the reason I will never buy another Xbox * ever again

Yeah, Xbox 360 is a POS.

Unfortunately, they are the best POS, especially if you're an online gamer like me. Xbox LIVE destroys the crap on the PS3, and the Wii is a totally softcore Nintendo joke. I want some Call of Duty action, not Mario.

I actually got the E74 error, and I fixed it using a street remedy. I wrapped it up in 4-5 towels, turned it on, and let the damn thing overheat for 3-4 hours. Then I simply took the towels off and turned the system off for a good while (~6 hours?) and when i turned it back on it worked as good as new. I know, I know. This goes against all logic and threatens to burn your house down, but it works. My Xbox 360 never had any trouble again until i was forced to sell it for $$ after the economic recession hit our family.

I'm sick of green and global warming and carbon propaganda

Oh, and if you want to know the reason for all the global warming and green and carbon propaganda, it's laid out rather nicely in the Alex Jones film Obama Deception:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAaQNACwaLw

It's near the end, but the whole thing is worth watching, especially if you want to understand why.

Energy Secretary Chu Endorses "Clean Coal"

    http://hardware.slashdot.org/article.../04/15/1859241

"clean coal", yes ... I've lived near a coal power plant at one point, and I know exactly how clean coal is. There were lots of dead birds all over and soot on all plant leaves. Now that's what I call "clean". Also, by near I mean it was located about 10 to 20 miles from where I was.

I will agree there are more important issues than global warming, but I think it does need to be put on the back burner (so to speak). Keep up the articles with the attitude.

    More from /.

    http://news.slashdot.org/article.pl?.../03/28/1558225

    Quote:
"In The Civil Heretic, the NYT Magazine takes a look at how world-renowned scientist Freeman Dyson wound up opposing those who care most about global warming. Since coming out of the closet on global warming, Dyson has found himself described as 'a pompous twit,' 'a blowhard,' and 'a mad scientist.' He argues that climate change has become an obsession for 'a worldwide secular religion' known as environmentalism. Dyson has been particularly dismissive of Al Gore, calling him climate change's chief propagandist and accusing him of relying too heavily on computer-generated climate models and promoting 'lousy science' that's distracting attention from more serious and more immediate dangers to the planet."

Good for him, I applaud his efforts. Stand up against this nonsense and propaganda.

I'm sick of green and global warming and carbon propaganda

There may be some truth to your California article.

Dark paints are known to absorb heat from the sun. As a result the airconditioner compressor works longer with higher head pressure which requires more horsepower. This does seem small as in emptying the ocean with a teaspoon. But if you look at it as 5 million teaspoons it might change the output.

I'm sick of green and global warming and carbon propaganda

Just look at how far this BS has gone:

    http://news.slashdot.org/article.pl?.../03/26/1639250

    Quote:

California To Reduce Carbon Emissions By Banning Black Cars

Legislation may soon restrict the paint color options for California residents looking for a new car. Black and all dark hues are currently on the banned list. The California Air Resources Board says that the climate control systems of dark colored cars need to work harder than their lighter siblings - especially after sitting in the sun for a few hours.
I sense the general IQ is dropping fast.

Xbox 360, the reason I will never buy another Xbox * ever again

Also see this recent /. article:

Increase In Xbox 360 E74 Problems
"According to data collected by Joystiq as well as Google Trends, there's been a steady rise in reports and discussion of the so-called E74 error on Xbox 360 consoles since August of last year. The E74 error is related to video problems caused by either a faulty AV connector or, more often, a loosened ANA/HANA scaling chip. This is not the first time the Xbox 360 has experienced technical issues; in recent years many people have complained about scratched discs and over-heating consoles — the 'red ring of death.'"
    http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl.../03/23/0337244

Moral: Don't buy an Xbox 360, it is a POS.
Unfortunately I can't say anything good about the PS3 with all its DRM and reports of the drive burning out awfully quick.
