Refocussing on Linux OS'

After a disconcertingly bad and completely unexpected (ok, ok, call me naive, but for a long while my Mac Book did just work) Lion OS experience, and not really wishing to pursue future costly Windows upgrades, I have decided to refocus on Linux.
I think I will try Fedora again. I am wondering what it is like running the freeware security product Prey. I must have a dabble during our forthcoming Southern summer. Still, Fedora is a bit bleeding edge for those inexperienced with Linux.. Oh well, I'll give it a go!
