samba - window computers not displaying


[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
when i lock the screen using xlock and again if i login again, the other windows computers are not displaying can any one think of reason why is it so.

are you able to see the share before using xlock,???be sure of that and tell the answer

What do you mean when you say "other w computers are not displaying"? That other w computers are not seeing this one you have just xlocked anymore, or that you can't see other w computers from the xlocked machine.

If later, where does these computers are not seen anymore? eg. do you run "smbtree" and these are gone from the listing or what?

BTW. this doesn't make sense that xlock interacts with samba in any way.

eg. you should be able to open an other virtual console and run smbtree from there and do other things in X (run xlock or not to run xlock) without any interference.
