Shutdown/Logout buttons

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Newly installed Arch Gnome (64bit).

Shutdown and Logout buttons both return me to the Login (GDM) screen.

Seems like a permissions problem? Can I add 'Shutdown' or something to my user groups? What groups are there?

Any ideas?

Thanks for your time.

Thanks. Its working now.
I don't get it though since this installation is only a few days old and I distinctly remember adding 'power' to my user.
I had pretty well borked my policykit.conf file trying to fix this...fortunately had a backup.
