pre-install recommended reading?

I'm getting ready for a first time install of Arch and I know going into it that I am getting in way over my head. I have read the install guides, most everything on the wiki, and gone through the forum looking for install and set up related posts. Does anyone have any other recommendations before I start this? I have a Windows notebook I can use on the side to look things up if (when) I run into trouble, but the Arch install is going on my main computer so I need to head off as many problems ahead of time as possible in order to get it up and running as quickly as I can.

Anything helpful to a low-knowledge newbie would be much appreciated.

I have used Linux for a while (Red Hat 8, Ubuntu H and I, Fedora Core 11,12, and 13) but am very much an "end user". I don't know any programming languages and have never compiled anything from source without help. I can only do very basic things at command line (yum or apt/get installs and updates, navigate to a directory or file, check for kernel version or hardware set up information).

ensure you have went through the entire site at and you should be ok... i went through the beginners guide, the install guide, and the forums for a couple hours then dived right in. Feel free to post any problems you have here and I'll see if i can help you out some.

My last two arch builds were; lenovo s-10(2) netbook and an old precision 390 that I turned in to a firewall with shorewall via arch... i am by no means an expert either... but anyway...

best of luck and post any problems ;]

I'll give the guides one more run through and then see how it goes. Thanks!
