... from what I've found, pamac is a GUI for pacman ? I have never used anything other than pacman or yaourt in CLI mode for package management. I would suggest troubleshooting by using the command line equivalent and seeing if the problem lies there or with the GUI app. In my experience, and in line with the Arch way of doing things, I would suggest keeping it simple and just use pacman - it's dead simple.
