I am newbie to Manjaro OS.
I installed manjaro 0.8.13 on my "Elitebook 6930p" which has "ATI Radeon HD 3450" Graphics.
Steps I have performed.
1) Made Usb Bootable with Universal USB Installer.
2) After Booting from USB i started the Manjaro Live System by typing "start" because the propriety driver option i.e "nonfree" option was not working.
3) Installed the OS and rebooted.
4) After rebooted i didn't get the display i.e. different colors splash on the screen " red, yellow etc.".
I think there is some problem with the graphics driver.
Please Help ASAP.
can you suggest another arch based linux for beginners.
No, I would not recommend any Arch-based distribution at all -- they may make the initial set up a little easier (although I personally do not think this is the case) but they make troubleshooting more difficult because the user is not fully aware of all the configuration details and procedures on the system.
I actually recommend that you try pure Arch, it is not as difficult to use as is commonly believed (I find it *much* simpler to manage than Debian, for example) but it does require a willingness to read documentation and to apply active efforts towards understanding your system and it's configuration.
I started using Arch less than six months after first installing GNU/Linux (of any type) and the system I am using now is the same one I installed back then.
I am sure other forum members will have other recommendations but I genuinely believe that n00bs can and should use Arch, as long as they understand the paradigm and are willing to put in the effort required. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/The_Arch_Way
Can be difficult to know which decision to make where options are offered though. X vs Wayland, window/display manager, DE, ...
Can be tough if you haven't seen the environment before.
Go to the wiki, read the FAQ, then the beginners guide.
My Arch systems tend to be pretty stable even though I am less than conscientious in keeping them up to date.
As for Manjaro, I have a test laptop with a AMD HD 6320 - the nonfree option worked fine, and the standard start produced a blank screen on the liveCD. Once it came up it was using fglrx (the proprietary Catalyst driver). Runs fine from that perspective.
Doesn't appear to offer separate virtual terminals to see what's happening during boot.
