just reinstalled arch root problem is back,the problem is when I log into lxdm it wont let me log in as user grumpy I have to type in root as user then my password and up on the right instead of user it has root.sudoers has my user name so I have no idea whats going on
why do you think logging in as root will help you with logging in as user?
Ican only log in as root it wont accept my user name
how did you install archlinux?
I used a usb stick to install arch this morniing I burnt arch to a dvd same problem
how did you install lxdm?
I downloaded it then installed it
sudoers file part

grumpy ALL=(ALL) ALL
## Uncomment to allow members of group wheel to execute any command

why do you think logging in as root will help you with logging in as user?
Ican only log in as root it wont accept my user name
if you cannot login as user, then you have to fix that!
logging in as root won't fix it, on the contrary, in an X session it is likely to make things worse.

you did not use "pacman -Syu lxdm" ???

my sudoers does not have the "grumpy..." line in it (supposing grumpy is the name of a normal user). only the 2 other lines.
my verdict:
start again.
beginners guide is your BIBLE. adhere to it 200%.
click on every link and do what it says.
if it says "you might want to" then it usually means "you must".
google is my friend I will try and explain what a I did all I had was login screen terminalI didnt have desktop yet
ok went to login put root in then passwd then typed login then typed passwd and user name then enter and then login
