ETQW and Openbox

So I've recently switched from KDE, to Openbox. I removed KDE in its entirety and installed Openbox fine. My problem seems to be with Enemy Territory Quake Wars.

It starts up fine, main menu's fine, etc. But once I start a game, whether it be on just the computer, or online it's completly unplayable. The best way to describe it is like looking at screenshots one after another, it's just stuttering that bad, the sound lags from the image, sometimes the image is distorted. It's horrible. But, it worked completly fine in KDE. I've tried other games, Doom 3, Vendetta Online, Urban Terror, they all worked just as good as they did in KDE. I've tried running it from the terminal, and it didn't seem to show any errors. The first time I tried it, it completly kicked me back to my SLIM logon manager.

I'm at a complete loss as to why this is happening, does anyone have any suggestions?

Wipe out any configuration you have for it and re-set it up, it sounds like something it's using got corrupted.

Thanks for the reply. I deleted the .etqwl folder, and reset up all my configurations. Unfortunately, once I choose a character and deployed, I was getting really jagged picture while flying down, then half way down I just stopped moving, yet the voice tutorial was still playing. I hit escape, and tried to move my mouse to quit the game which I was able to do, but the mouse was really slow and delayed, and jagged moving just like the game is.
