cdrecord on Arch?

Why can't I find cdrecord neither in Arch's repositories nor in AUR? Wodim is also not there...

The genuine cdrtools can be found in the AUR. That fork is the original and is much better maintained - I don't know why Arch followed Debian's lead in using the perpetually-broken wodim.

IMO the genuine cdrtools is very carefully developed. The cdrkit fork causes many problems for users, sometimes to the point where they can't burn at all.

I use cdrtools and similar CLI burning software to burn directly, rather than using GUI apps. Once I got it set up (my example "bic" script is here for this) I found it much easier and more reliable. The GUI apps mostly just call these programs anyway, so I like cutting out the middle man.
