Cannot shutdown from LXDE.

I cannot shut down from LXDE. When I choose Logout from the start menu the only option is Logout.

My user is in the power group, HAL and DBUS are running, and I have the lines in PolicyKit.conf as directed in the Wiki, http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/...boot_from_LXDE

It was fine when I first installed and configured Arch, and seems to have broken when I did some recent upgrades. The problem has persisted across reboots. Restarting HAL and DBUS makes no difference.

How do I resolve this?

1 thing I can think of is that, if you startup in init 3 and use startlxde or startx to launch X then you will have to logout. Try starting init 5 directly and see.

The PolicyKit has been dropped by hal, and it is recommended in Arch to boot with runlevel 3 and add slim has the last element of your deamons in rc.conf.
To shutdown/restart, add ck-launch-seesion in your .xinitrc like this:
Code:
exec ck-launch-session startlxde
