hi there

i have installed arch and everything went fine.

when i choose arch linux in the grub menu it first loads, gets a first FAIL on "mounting root read-only".

then:

Mounting local Filesystems BUSY
warning: cant open /etc/mtab: No such file or directory
mount: cant find / in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
cant create lock file ....
cant create lock file......

Configuring System Clock BUSY
.....

Removing Leftover Files BUSY
......... read only file system
........

.....

and then if i wait for about 4 minutes a login comes up:

Arch Linux 0.6 (widget) ((none)) (vc/1)

(none) login:

there i cant login as root (login incorrect)

what have i done ? =(

thanks for help

I would guess that you are missing your /etc directory in your newly installed system and perhaps much more. I suggest that you write this off as a failed install and install again.
