Arch won't detect USB flash drive

I've just installed arch linux, but its not detecting my tiny usb flash drive. Is there anyway I can remedy this?

what do you mean its not detecting the usb drive. can you expand on that? insert the usb stick and the issue dmesg as root, what does it say?
