Anonymous login failure...?

Hi

I looked for something similar in the wiki and here, but nothing like this error. For some reason, when I do:

pacman -Sy

I get the error "anonymous login faulure."

Where is this config file in Arch? Anyone ever had this problem?

Any help appreciated

Bob

i've been getting that too... but it still works... i think it's probaby just the default mirror or something? the mirros files are located in /etc/pacman.d/

Thanks, halo14. Yes, I, too, have found that it still works. If you are getting it then it must be a mirror thing. Hopefully it will sort itself out.

Thanks for your response.

As Halo14 said, change to the /etc/pacman.d directory and you will see a list of repos (eg current, extra, community etc). Using your favourite text editor, uncomment out the first entry in the list for whatever mirror is returning the log in error, and you will then no longer see the error message.

Whilst you're in that file, you could put the mirror which is closest to you geographically at the top, as this is the one pacman will use first.
