All keys on my Antergos keyboard, blink when pressed and nothing else
I am running the latest Antergos and the latest Manjaro. A day and a half ago, all the keys on my 'logitech' wireless keyboard stopped working. I attempt to type a URL in the address bar, and each time a key is pressed the monitor screen flashes or blinks. Nothing appears in the address bar, nor does any thing appear any place that I would have an opportunity to type. Just 'Blinks.'
Any and all keys blink when pressed. The keys normally used to close a page 'Alt+F4' blink. You name a key on the keyboard and it blinks and naught else.
I can not use the terminal. On my Antergos, I am running Cinnamon DE, so I can restart into Manjaro.
Which is where I am typing this from and it is the same keyboard as I used or tried to use with my Antergos.
As mentioned earlier, I am unable to use the terminal to update, nor can I type the password which would under normal circumstances move the update installation along.
are you saying the same keyboard works from a different distro?
does the same keyboard work when you boot into recovery or text mode (no X) on the befallen distro?
are the keyboard batteries ok?
does a different keyboard work?
The keyboard I used for Manjaro Linux worked, until a few days ago, with Antergos. The keyboard is a 'Logitech K350' I also tried a wired keyboard, a Gateway Model: SK-6205H (G)'. Both keyboards would work when I was using Manjaro but did not work when I tried Antergos. As I mentioned before none of the keys did anything but 'blink' when pressed and or clicked.
The batteries are good, I put in a fresh pair the day this mess started, thinking it might be the batteries. A possibility was my having a new PC and monitor, an that in some way it messed up the Antergos keyboard but not the Manjaro keyboard. That of course, makes no sense.I
I've decided to make a fresh install with a fresh downloaded and burned iso on a new dvd/rw and see if that fixes the issue.
ondoho, Logging in to Antergos was never the issue, it was once I was on Antergos that things came to a grinding halt.
Maybe once the install is complete I'll have some good news??
I installed Antergos using a newly burned iso. Installation went smoothly as did the login. I am pleased to let you know that my keyboard and all its little keys are working as they should. I would have liked to have solved this without reinstalling but chooser's can't be beggars.
