C compiler cannot create executables

Hi,

I've installed glic-2.3 and gcc-3.2 from Slackware 9.1.

However, when I try to compile any packages from source, I get an error (as above).

Any clues as to what is going on?

Look in config.log to see more information on the problem. If the problem persists, please post the relevant parts of config.log here.

I had actually read the thread, but for some reason had failed to register that binutils was needed.
