The Best Commands to know


I don't know if anyone has asked this question. But if someone can give me a little list of the commands that you should know when ever you get on a Linux computer. Thanks for the help everyone.

Here is my top ten command:
startx
ls
cd
man
rm
poweroff
exit
mc
killall
ps
init

cd - to change directories
pwd - where AM I?
ls - what stuff is here?
rm - remove
mkdir - make directory
startx - start x
./configure - make - make install -
shutdown
man
lspci - hardware troubleshooting

1. smitty is for System Managers, but not for a beginner.
2. Attn Smoken. This is AIX Forum. U asked about Linux.

Hi,

I am a new member, not sure if I am in the right place. Let's see! I am trying to open a file with a asf. attached to it. I am not to savy with computers can you help?

what is asf?
When u sumbit a question,
