ssh to start at boot-up - AIX 4.3.2

Greetings,

I am running AIX 4.3.2 on an rs6000. If i want to start secure shell (or anything else for that matter) when the machine boots up, where (what file) should i place it in?

the start up script i want initiated at boot-up is: /usr/local/sbin/sshd <---- this starts ssh on the machine!

Thanks for any help that can be provided.

sshd should be started out of inittab as far as I know... btw if you are running 4.3.2 you probably have a whole lot security vunerabilites on that box... what Maintenance Level are you at ?

thanks mr potatohead...inside of inittab there are lots of different type of ways to start this sshd script...could you provide a sample for this particular /usr/local/sbin/sshd script? I don't want to add something that could stop the machine from booting!

re: 4.3.2 vulnerabilities...i know, we plan on upgrading this os to aix 5.2 ASAP...all that's needed is some time to do this.

thanks again,

Your entry should probably look something like this

sshd:2:once:/usr/local/bin/sshd

On my servers we use openssh and start it from /etc/inittab with this line

opensshd:2:once:/etc/openssh/rc.openssh
