Wink Problem with system backup. AIX 5.2

Hi all !

We used to take system backup using smitty mksysb

No issues with AIX 4.3

But problem with AIX 5.2
Message as:

The boot image you just created might fail to boot because the size exceeds the system limit.

boot image

This is only an issue if you have to boot from tape. We get around this by booting from CD and then installing OS from the mksysb tape.

Apply an APAR can fix it; or patch your 5.2 to ML4+...

Another way is to uninstall some of your drivers, see lslpp
