Prepare firmware versions availability for current versions
 

What is a good way of quickly consolidating firmware version data? We're in the process of preparing an inventory of all our servers with their current firmware levels. Then furnish a list of all the levels currently available that should be applied on the older ones.

How do I go about achieving this?

If your machines are connected to an HMC (v7?), the HMC's Update tab will give you a list of current firmware versions.

I was looking more at obtaining the info from the CLI. Gathered that 'lsmcode' does the thing.
