I would say that you should install ssh. I guess it's in the Linux Toolbox CD.
Or try to get it from http://www.bullfreeware.com/

Exactly the same way as on redhat.

find / -name '<filename>'

(And I'm not even going to ask about the port 22/25 bit - let's just say I'm confused!)

Obviously, Agallant tries to ssh root@192.168.94.9
And 192.168.94.9 refuses the connection.

screwloose - you cant have both ssh and mail listening on same ports....

agallant needs to see if the daemon is even running.... if he refuses connection...that most likely means ssh isnt running...

this is a aix forum..not redhat..

but to help you out, if you are indeed sure the firewall is disabled..another thing that you might have is tcp wrappers installed and it is setup to deny access..you might want to look into that..

can you ssh as root ? Las time I did it, I had to ssh as a standard user, and then su to root.
agallant, first, did you try ssh as a normal user ?
Secondly, if you can ssh from the local network, don't you have a company global router/firewall which does not allow ssh ?

Yeah, i tried ssh as a standard user it did not work. we are replacing the system in a few days so i can use 25 untill then.

Just FYI for the other people that are confused.

ssh = port 22
telnet = port 25
