Question not able to ftp from aix to aix server


I am not able to ftp from one aix server to another, On both server ftp service is running

after typing ftp <ip address> it is getting stuck there

wheather i have to do any other changes?

You didn't say whether you were using ip addresses or hostnames. If you are using ip adresses, make sure the servers can ping each other by ip adress. If you are using hostnames, then make sure the two servers can resolve each other's hostname.

after checking whatever Dave recommended.

If still the problem remains : You can check /etc/inetd.conf

ftp stream tcp6 nowait root /usr/sbin/ftpd ftpd

this should be uncommented.

and then

refresh -s inetd

Dose other computer can ftp to the two aix ?
