Question Modem installation on IBM R52


Hi guys.

I am a newbie to linux & have a problem with installing my internal IBM modem on my Knoppix linux ... any comment on that ?

my machine is : ThinkPad R52 1846-3WG

details : P M 740(1.7GHz), 512MB RAM, 60GB 5400rpm HDD, 15in 1024x768 LCD, 64MB ATI Radeon X300, CD-RW/DVD-R Multi-Burner, Intel 802.11bg wireless(MPCI), Bluetooth/Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Secure Chip, IEEE 1394, 6 cell Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro

Knoppix != AIX

Linux question.... but WTH.
Figure out your modem chipset with: lspci |grep -i modem
Then google it, or maybe check out: http://www.linux-on-laptops.com/
